Harvest Season

Wind rattles through the dried corn fields. The air is cooler now, with a crisp edge that makes you think of freshly sharpened pencils and construction paper pumpkins. Small ghosts and goblins skitter through the streets, gleefully giggling and shouting to each other. You're headed home to a warm kitchen, full of light and spices and the off-key singing of someone you love.
